Tropical Blooms

This is my entry into the June In Bloom challenge by @charlyclements @iamgiagraham @maja-faber @weronika.salach and @sarahholliday on instagram.

Insight into my process below↓

1st. I choose my color palette and inspiration photo.  I am working on going with my first idea to let go of the ‘it has to be perfect, has to have meaning’ mindset.

ℹ️The original photo of the hands was shot by @womanizer on @unsplash 

2nd. I sketched out the hands using similar colors to the skin tone. I liked it so much I decided to keep it in the final illustration.

3rd. Rough sketch of the leaves inspired by paper leaves I made for my teaching background. 

4th. Color. I added an image of paper as an overlay to create more texture and mimic the paper leaves.

5th. Details and shading. 

💡I am determined to be more flexible. To use what I have. To put that light feeling back into creating.
